About Me (Adrian Bennett) aka Aid
If you dont care, dont read it!
Without
giving too much away so that I do not have
my identity stolen on the internet, I
would like to tell you a little
about my past, though I'm sure you will
probably find this quite boring. I suppose
you could always go to another page!
In the beginning.......
I was born and raised in a beautiful market
town named Shrewsbury, in Shropshire UK
at the beginning of the seventies, it just
so
happens this is the same place where Charles
Darwin was born and raised and where
Ellis Peters wrote about the Chronicles
of Cadfael, the detective monk.
From all accounts and from what I remember,
I was was an absolute horror to my mum,
dad and brother, a right pain in the arse,
hyperactive and
unruly. I suppose
as I grow older I am starting to realise
this and slowly, possibly begrudgingly
I am trying to make amends.
Some things that I did, which nearly
caused heart attacks
to my family.
-
Age
Six - Made an electrocution device
(non lethal) and electrocuted my mum
when
she was
talking
to a life
insurance salesman, I guess her insurance
policy went straight up!
-
Age Six - Electrocuted
myself by putting screwdrivers in to
the 240Volt socket
in my bedroom.
(My Grandmother was baby sitting
at the time and it did very nearly
finish her
off)
-
Age Seven - I developed
a love of space travel, this started
the making of home
made rockets and eventually led to an
active interest in Gas Turbines.
-
Age
Nine - Emptied the freezer so that
I could
make a Nitro Glycerine derivative
in the cold so that my Go Kart would
run
faster.
Personal, Jobs, Hobbies and
Interests.

I
am married to Catherine and
have a baby boy called Freddie, born
on the 29/04/2008.'

' Katie & Humbug',
Down to one Cat 'Jenny', four Horses 'Seren,

Sailing
boats and dinghy's (from the
age of four). My grandfather (Frank
Bennett) was a founder member of Bala
Sailing Club in
North Wales. I enjoyed competing as
a crew member and as a Helm. At
the age of fourteen I moved over to
Windsurfing where I still have an interest.
A friend of mine ' Ben
Proffitt' is currently the UK
Wave sailing champion. My brother
' Layton'
is also active within the WindSurfing
and KiteSurfing world, he now lives
in Cornwall and is a photographer
by trade, his wife Dreya also
has an interesting watersports background.
I also worked for a watersports company
for a while called ' O'Shea
International' and then later
an Internet website promoting the
place
that I lived in at the time ' Abersoch.co.uk'.
Whilst living in Abersoch I arranged
and mixed the sound for the very
first ' Wakestock
Festival' and was a member of
the
RNLI,
where on a stormy thursday night
I was part
of fairly scary rescue of
a young girl stuck on rocks.

It
seems that I have always had an interest
in Astronomy and Space travel. When
I was young I closely followed astronomers
like Patrick
Moore and Carl
Sagan, Dr Sagan had
an excellent series on TV called
the
Cosmos, this
was the one single TV program that
has influenced me the most and possibly
crafted my interest in technology.
I would like to thank him for this,
unfortunately he died at the young
age of 62 from an illness he had
been fighting for a while.
Here are
some Carl Sagan Quotes:-
Imagination will often carry us to
worlds that never were. But without
it we go nowhere.
In order to make an apple pie from
scratch, you must first create the
universe.
Somewhere, something incredible is
waiting to be known.
We are a way for the Cosmos to know
itself.
You have to know the past to understand
the present.
We are star-stuff.
A YouTube.com Clip from 'The Cosmos'
can be found here.

My
love for a song named 'Heaven & Hell'
by Vangelis and
used as the theme tune to ' The
Cosmos' Series on TV
was the seed sown for my
passion
of Music and consequently Sound Engineering,
this was encouraged by my cousin
Jon Dee,
who also has
had his time as an engineer and producer.
Jon later moved to Australia and
set up a organisation with Pat Cash
called ' Planet
Ark', he now runs his
own Environmental
Consultancy.
I have had the pleasure in the past
of working with bands such as Pink
Floyd,
Iron
Maiden, Rush, Marillion and Errol
Brown, I guess my professional engineering
days are now over, but I still record
regularly with one of my friends
Ken Law, some of his music may get
posted
here soon.
