It is always good practice to have
a clean flow of air in to the engine, especially at high
powers, usually a
trumpet housing similar to the hovercraft one above can
be used, a bit of a nip and a tuck here and there and it
hopefully will do the job.

It looks like a large top hat! I
have marked a line that I will cut along and the top
tube part that remains will no longer be required and
discarded. There is always downside, the diameter
is not correct so sections will have to be cut out of
the
flare
and
re-resined back together to make the correct dimensions.
