Article in my local newspaper dated the 24th August
2011.
Although there is no such thing as bad press and I am grateful the Shropshire
Star as taken an interest in the car, there are a few points that I have to correct
as I would imagine this would otherwise worry the DVLA.
The car is likely to be the only Electric GT powered car in private hands in
the world, but I am sure there are similar cars built as concept cars by manufacturers.
The car isn't jet powered, you can walk behind it and still have a mid section,
it's aided by the addition of a Gas Turbine Engine that directly drives an alternator.
The car technically is not a Hybrid, if you take the electric motors away it
will not move, even with the engine running, thus it is an electric car.
The car isn't based on a Rover MGF, it is a Rover MGF, the transmission and source
of power have been changed.
The batteries only receive a charge from the GT alternator if the engine is running,
the GT is not required to be operational to move the car along the road.
And most importantly the noise level is below 90 decibels, not more than.
