I started with 4 alternating layers of K
Glass woven cloth (top then front) on to the mould, errm
I mean cardboard and then the carbon was added with
another 2
layers
of K Glass on
top of that. As you
may
not know
K Glass
goes
clear when wetted out with resin. This was a time consuming
process.

The front was
then cut out for an aluminum panel which makes life
easier for wiring as the controls can be connected with
the fairing removed. You then simply re-attach after
all the wires are terminated. |

fairing assembly. A polish to achieve a gloss finish
has yet to de done.

Before I even
start about thinking of a throttle I intend to make a
note of the actual RPM , to do this I will make
use of the accessory port already provided on the engine.
The plan is to use a programmable Redlion pulse sensor
and counter to read the 43 toothed gear as shown. I
will get back on to this properly when the counter arrives.

|
Start of the exhaust
nozzle mount. I have decided to make use of the existing
FPT Stator
as the shroud for the Turbine Wheel as its already cut
exactly
to size. I have also checked that the metal was Inconnel
as you can tell by the holes I blew in it with a Mig welder
using stainless wire with the current setting too high.

The vanes
have now been reduced to a sensible size, this represents
nearly a days worth of grinding
and countless grinding disks. If you look carefully you
can see the black wear disks that form on tight seal
on to the turbine wheel when running.
|
|
Fitted and in
place, the intention now is to Mig or preferably Tig
a Stainless Steel flange
on to the outer lip so that an assortment of nozzles
or even a Re-Heat pipe can be fitted at a moments notice.
( Similar
to the Solent Nozzle) |

Control Panel has now been mounted
and wired up. All I am waiting for now is the Redlion Tacho
display and pluse sensor.

the fairing/ control panel showing the 2 fuse box's that
I have installed. The
upper is for the 24 volt system (Starter Relay & Fuel
Valves) and the lower the 12 volt system (Fuel & Oil
Pumps, RPM
Indicator).
